Mark of Warding

A legacy dwarf subrace with an intuitive understanding of locks and protective magic.

Legacy traits

This legacy option replaces the dwarf’s subrace.

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence score increases by 1.

Warder’s Intuition

When making an Intelligence (Investigation) check or an ability check using thieves’ tools, roll a d4 and add it to the check.

Wards and Seals

You can cast alarm and mage armor. From 3rd level, you can also cast arcane lock. Each spell can be cast once with this trait, regaining its use after a long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability, and these castings require no material components.

Spells of the Mark

If you have the Spellcasting or Pact Magic class feature, add these spells to your spellcasting class’s spell list.

Spell levelSpells
1Alarm, armor of Agathys
2Arcane lock, knock
3Glyph of warding, magic circle
