Warlock: Pact Magic

A pact with a mysterious entity grants your Warlock spells. Charisma is your spellcasting ability, and an Arcane Focus can serve as your Spellcasting Focus.

Cantrips

Choose two Warlock cantrips at level 1; Eldritch Blast and Prestidigitation are recommended. Learn another at Warlock levels 4 and 10. Whenever you gain a Warlock level, you can replace one cantrip from this feature with another Warlock cantrip.

Spell slots and recovery

Pact Magic slots all have the same level, shown below. You regain every expended Pact Magic slot when you finish a Short or Long Rest.

A level 5 Warlock, for example, has two level 3 slots. Casting the level 1 spell Charm Person expends one of those slots and casts it at level 3.

Prepared spells

At level 1, prepare two level 1 Warlock spells; Charm Person and Hex are recommended. As the Prepared spells column increases, choose additional Warlock spells until your list reaches that number. Each chosen spell must be no higher than the Slot level shown for your Warlock level.

Spells that another Warlock feature always prepares for you do not count against this limit, but still count as Warlock spells.

Whenever you gain a Warlock level, you can replace one spell on this prepared list with another Warlock spell of an eligible level.

Pact Magic progression

These are the cantrips, prepared spells, and slots provided by Pact Magic. Higher-level Mystic Arcanum spells are granted by a separate class feature.
