An upper Central Plateau terrace in 1250, with spacious walkways and carefully placed commercial signs.
Central Plateau is closely associated with Sharn's civic authority, major business, and wealth. Its addresses carry weight: a meeting here can mean an official hearing, a professional appointment, or a reception whose guest list matters as much as its conversation.
Public doors and private rooms
The quarter has upper, middle, and lower wards. Its upper districts have the strongest association with expensive services and prominent institutions. The work supporting those institutions crosses the whole stack: clerks, messengers, cleaners, repairers, and customers travel through different entrances and wait in different rooms.
An official building may contain a public counter as well as offices accessible by appointment. Being allowed into one does not mean being welcomed into the other. Clothing, credentials, and the ability to spend a morning waiting can all affect an ordinary visit without changing the law on paper.
Authority in 1250 YK
Sharn's elected council and Breland's courts retain real powers. House influence makes exercising those powers expensive and difficult for people who cannot easily miss work or retain help. A favorable ruling and the means to pursue one are separate advantages.
Law and institutions explains the difference between civic officers, royal authority, and House contractors. The charter vote describes the Public Safety and Continuity Act now approaching a vote.
An exact destination still needs a ward, district, and entrance; Sharn's vertical guide explains why.
