House Cannith: modern gorgon emblem and commercial wordmark.

Mark of Making · Human lineages · Manufacture and artifice

House Cannith builds things: tools, weapons, useful magical devices, and components on which other services depend. Its mark gives an intuitive affinity for making and repairing, amplified by training and specialized equipment. Marked heirs work within an institution that also depends on unmarked artisans, designers, laborers, and commercial staff.

Cannith’s power extends beyond the finished item. Design knowledge, access to a workshop, and the means to reproduce a device can matter as much as owning one.

A legacy of manufacture

Cannith supplied the Last War and created warforged through its creation forges. The destruction of Cyre in 994 YK devastated its old center of operations. In the immediate postwar period, competing branches disputed leadership. The Treaty of Thronehold required the creation forges to close.

That history links Cannith’s name to remarkable craftsmanship and to lives shaped by industrial warfare. Warforged freedom belongs to the people concerned, whatever a maker once expected of them.

Cannith in 1250

The Weavegrid brings devices into a wider system of certification, maintenance, supplies, and authorized work. Many devices function locally, yet keeping them useful can involve several continuing obligations. A household may own an appliance while depending on a certified repairer or a particular supply chain.

Personal cantrips remain legal. Independent commercial spellwork and modifications to certified equipment face uneven permits, fees, and inspection. That difference places an independent maker and a House workshop in very different positions when both can solve the same small problem.

Modern House identity

By 1250, Cannith's everyday commercial emblem is a geometric, front-facing armored gorgon head in charcoal and copper. A broad brow, sweeping horns, squared muzzle, and seams suggesting fitted metal plates make it recognizable on maker's plates, repair signs, and advertisements. Heavy, squared lettering accompanies the name. Its advertising line is Made for life.

The modern emblem descends from the ancestral arms. Elaborate heraldry remains appropriate to formal House occasions and enclave architecture, while the simpler commercial identity appears throughout ordinary business.
