A lower Tavick's Landing concourse in 1250, with Orien routes, a Sivis counter, and neighborhood shops.
Tavick's Landing is one of the main ways people and goods enter Sharn. Its association with the lightning rail makes it a quarter of arrivals and departures: travelers looking for an address, workers handling freight, and people waiting for someone whose journey has taken longer than expected.
Arriving is only the first journey
The lightning rail is a House Orien transport service running along a prepared magical route. Reaching Sharn by rail still leaves the problem of reaching a particular tower entrance. Luggage, children, unfamiliar stairs, and the cost of another fare can make that last stretch the harder part of the day.
Tavick's Landing has upper, middle, and lower wards. The same arrival can lead toward a comfortable appointment or an uncertain search for affordable rooms. A destination written only as “Tavick's” is incomplete; the ward and district decide much of the route.
A city of arrivals
Sharn's history includes merchants, laborers, adventurers, and people displaced from somewhere else. Cyran refugees were an important part of the city's postwar story. In 1250, the Mourning is also an inheritance carried through families, commemorations, and stories; it is no longer a recent event for most residents.
Travel brings people into contact with the Mana Standard at transit hubs and registered services. Having an identity credential does not guarantee enough money, a working account, or a place to stay.
The transport guide explains movement within the city, and Sharn's maps show the ward layout. The Last War provides the background to the refugee communities remembered in older accounts.
